Road Tax Renewal Alerts Coming Soon on MyJPJ App
Soon, you won’t be able to claim that you "forgot" to renew your road tax to avoid a fine. The MyJPJ app will soon feature reminder notifications for road tax renewals as part of its upcoming updates, as announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke during today’s Dewan Rakyat session.
This upgrade is part of the ministry’s ongoing digitalisation efforts for the Road Transport Department (JPJ), which began in February last year. The feature will be available once it's fully developed and ready to use.
Loke also mentioned that the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and JPJ are committed to continuously improving the MyJPJ app to enhance online services for the public. One such improvement was the introduction of road tax (LKM) and driving licence (LMM) renewals directly through the app.
To address complaints about using vehicles registered under other names, the MyJPJ app also introduced a “Share LKM” feature, allowing owners to share their road tax digitally. Loke further confirmed that additional improvements to the app will be rolled out in phases, with priorities determined by necessity and cost.
